General Info

Urban Exploration London - What we do:

UEL is a tight-knit group based in London, Ontario. We photograph, document and explore abandoned structures in and around the London area. See "Urban Exploration" and "Industrial Archaeology". We are NOT thieves, graffitti artists, vandals, or taggers.

History:

Urban Exploration London was officially founded in September of 2002. Founding members: Capone, Citizen-X, and Jerry

The UEL code

UEL adheres to a strict code of conduct while exploring:
1. NO stealing 2. NO vandalism 3. NO graffitti

Basically, we follow the UE Motto: "Take Only Pictures, Leave Only Footprints"

Why do we explore?

For adventure and the fun of it. For some people it's a fascination with abandoned places, for some people it's the thrill of going someplace you're not supposed to be, or the curiosity... needing to know what's behind that boarded-up door. As well, UEL is preserving the history of these buildings, which would otherwise be torn down and forgotten. It is the thieves, graffitti artists, and the vandals who give UE a bad name.

What equipment do I need for urban exploring?

Since each location is different, there is no one set of things which will work in all situations. There can be many dangers present in abandonments, including rotten floors, flooded basements, sharp/rusty debris, asbestos, and other hazards.

Now with that said: remember that UE may involve trespassing, whether or not you see signs around. Although we feel UE is a harmless hobby, we do not advocate such trespassing or breaking of the law in any way. How can I contact UEL?

The UEL address is uelondon@hotmail.com. There's also a direct mail link on the main page. NOTE - In response to the many emails we have received; We are not accepting new members at this time. As well, we will not "tour" people around or otherwise take them to any of the locations you see here. We will, however, continue to answer any questions you may have, and we are always open to exchanging information. Most Importantly: mail us if you know of a good place to explore in or around London!
