This little house was a bit out past Byron in the country. It was supposedly the death place of a mother and two children, and thus it's rumoured to be haunted. The house itself is a small 2-storey structure out on a backroad near a swamp. All of the windows are broken (though the front living-room window was boarded up) and the side door was wide open.
Now this house was trashed, and I mean trashed. Random holes kicked in the walls, the toilet smashed, insulation ripped out of walls.... it was total chaos. Most of the house was entirely cleaned out of any artifacts, although the basment contained some old windows and garden tools as well as old flares. Now the first room you see upon entering is the kitchen. This contained an overturned table and a lot of empty cupboards. Directly off this is a small bathroom with a tub and the smashed toilet. The second door off the kitchen leads to the boarded up living room, complete with ruined couches. A small room off of this also contained a small closet and carpeting (whereas the rest of the house was hardwood floors).
Upstairs almost every section of wall has holes kicked in it, and the wall to the odd little crawlspace is missing entirely, as well as the crawlspace door. On the right of the staircase is a small bedroom with an old iron bed and a mattress which reeked of piss. We found more flares in this room as well. There was a second room which also contained a mouldy mattress. As usual, all the walls had holes kicked in them.
Finally the basement: this had some old windowframes and some kind of storage bin in the corner by the stairs. Near the stairs we also found an old garden tool shaped like a crippled hand. Going beyond this point, there was a furnace, more flares lying around, and a really old school desk overturned by a small pump in the corner. As well, right above the entrance to the basement staircase, there is a painted crossbeam where somebody has carved the "Welcom" into the wood. Out back of the house was some kind of small garage, and then another large but mostly collapsed structure of what looked to be a small barn.
All in all, it was pretty good place, although pretty well devoid of any overly exciting artifacts. And no, we didn't see any ghosts.
